Patient-Specific Airway Stents

An airway stent as unique as each patient it treats.

VisionAir 3D Stents are personalized silicone stents tailored to a patient's unique airway anatomy and are manufactured for each patient using advanced 3D-printing technology and medical-grade silicone injection.

What makes VisionAir 3D Stents unique?

VisionAir 3D Stents are revolutionizing the treatment of Central Airway Obstruction (CAO), preserving the proven benefits of silicone while offering a patient-specific fit designed by the treating physician.

Why are VisionAir 3D patient-specific stents better?

VisionAir 3D Stent

After 13 Months

VisionAir 3D Stent after 13 months of implantation. Note the reduced inflammation, granulation tissue, stent discoloration, and mucus with a fit that matches the left-main bronchus.

VisionAir 3D Stent technological features

3D Stents preserve the characteristics of silicone stents that have benefitted patients for years with a tailored fit that is designed by the treating physician.

VisionAir 3D Stent Design Software

VisionAir 3D Stent Software is our cloud platform used to create 3D Stents and analyze airway specifications. By matching the way leading pulmonologists think about stent sizing, shape, and configuration, this system enables efficient design of 3D Stents for each patient’s unique airway anatomy.

Advanced Sphere Controls

Advanced Sphere Controls enable precise stent positioning and sizing relative to an airway cross-section with a bronchoscopic view and rendering of the airway walls. This provides a unique perspective of the airway's morphology and luminal diameters. The location of the longest and shortest diameters of the cross-section can be visualized while making stent adjustments.

CT Scan Viewer

The CT Scan Viewer is a fully functional DICOM viewer that can be activated at any point during 3D stent design. A real-time 2D image of the stent being designed in the 3D viewer is overlaid on the coronal, transverse, and sagittal CT planes, enabling review of the stent design with the surrounding anatomy. Linear measurements can be taken to bridge traditional stent sizing methods with our 3D stent design interface for precise stent 2D templating.

Airway Diameter Visualization

The Airway Measurement Tool enables precise assessment of cross-sectional morphology by combining real-time diameter and shape visualization with automatically-computed values. The cross-section is rendered perpendicular to the airway centerline and measurements are automatically taken through the center of the cross-section. Get a simulated bronchoscopy flythrough with diametric and shape visualization by simply clicking and dragging the handle in the 3D airway model.

Jailed Airway Indicators

The 3D Viewer will indicate when an airway branch is blocked/jailed by a Stent Design. When a 3D Stent is manufactured with a Jailed Airway Indicator, a small molded target will indicate where the jailed airway intersects the stent for accurate on-site fenestration and subsequent ventilation of the jailed airway. Jailed Airway Indicators are small raised targets that allow you to accurately fenestrate the 3D Stent, eliminating the need for intraoperative estimation of where a hole should be cut. The outer diameter of the indicator was designed to easily mate with commercially-available cutting tools.

How does VisionAir 3D Stent Architect work?

VisionAir 3D Stent Architect provides streamlined features for uploading CT scans, segmenting 3D models of the airway, analyzing airway specifications, designing 3D Stents, and ordering.
Users upload a CT scan
CT scan DICOM images are uploaded to VisionAir 3D Stent Architect from the medical center.

Physician designs 3D Stent

The treating physician creates a 3D Stent using the VisionAir 3D Stent Architect App with automatic design suggestions and tailors it to the patient’s 3D airway anatomy for an ideal fit.

The physician completes a final design review and approves the stent as a 3D prescription for ordering. 3D Stents are manufactured at VisionAir Solutions in Cleveland, OH.

The 3D Stent is manufactured and delivered to the medical center in 4-6 business days.
